Wendy Tan is a 56 year old mother of 4 and was an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Taiwan at a factory manufacturing Cellphone Keypads. And having to grew up with her father's Taho Business, Wendy thought to start her own Taho Business as her bread and butter.
Wendy started Louie's Taho (named after her grandson)15 years ago in
1999 manufacturing Taho - a Philippine snack food made of fresh
soft/silken soya beancurd served with arnibal (sweetener and flavoring),
and sago pearl (similar to tapioca pearls).
Wendy now employs five (5) workers processing Taho and thirty eight
(35) vendors peddling around the cities of Marikina and Pasig. Her
business has been generating livelihood for families belonging to
marginal Sector of society where majority are Out of School Youths. She
gives financial assistance to cover hospital expenses of her workers and
regularly dole out her taho to some hospital patients.
Lendahand partners NPFC are helping Louie's Taho to get more raw
materials to boost up production and support for incoming orders by
giving a P150,000.00 working capital loan payable in 12 months.
