Miriam Sabanpan Real is a fifty-two year old single parent of two sons. Yam as she is called by her friends, was formerly a general manager in a business producing stone casting of home & garden furnishings.

The business closed down in 2009. Because of her passion in designing, Yam established Real Imagination Home & Garden Furnishings in May 2010. She started her business with minimal equipment and a few employees from the previous business she was managing.

After 4 years, she acquired more equipment while she also recruited employees from the previous business. She also reconnected with the clients from the previous business thus expanding her market. Local churches, resorts and home owners nationwide are some of the target groups of Real Imagination Home & Garden Furnishings while her main export markets are the US, Australia, Dubai and Japan.

At present, her eldest son is in charge of Operations and Marketing. The business is employing forty-six workers of which twenty-six are female.

Yam encourages local youth to work for her and hope that they will stay away from drugs and continue with their education. She would like all her employees to be working with her until their retirement and encourages their sons and daughters to work at her company as well and replace their parents after they retire. 

Lendahand’s partner NPFC is helping Real Imagination Home & Garden Furnishings in acquiring additional raw materials to boost the production and support incoming orders by granting a P500,000 working capital loan payable in 6 months.
