Rogelio and his wife are the owners of a small supermarket called ‘los monos paisas’. The supermarket is located in the Kennedy area, in Colombia’s capital Bogotá. The supermarket caters for the daily needs of the people living in the neighbourhood; they can buy goods such as dairy, coffee, meat, wheat, oil, vegetables and fruit. Rogelio has been working in the sector for over 22 years, and he has his own business since 7 years. At this moment they are renting the location where the supermarket is situated.

With the loan they would like to expand the assortment of the supermarket. They want customers to buy all their groceries in their supermarket, so that the customers do not have to go to different stores to do their daily shopping. Rogelio’s dream is to buy the property, so he can even further expand his business and he can leave a thriving business behind for his children. With the loan, 2 jobs are created.

Lendahand and its local partner in Colombia (VSC) grant this loan to Rogelio payable in 18 months, to make this ambition reality.
