José and his wife are farmers from the small village Piedra Herranda. Since three years they are the owners of Finca (farm) Los Pirineos which is situated in the middle of Sopó, the dairy district of Colombia. One of the most renowned dairy processors is also situated in the neighbourhood. José delivers the milk here everyday.The company processes the milk to make it suitable for consumption. José and his two sons (both students) milk the cows every early morning. After this, José goes to his second job; he also works as an administrative clerk at a company in the neighbourhood. His wife takes care of the house and the cows during the day.

With the loan José would like to buy more cows for his farm. He eventually hopes to have enough cows to become a fulltime farmer again. 

Lendahand and its local partner grant this loan to José, payable in 24 months, to be able to make this ambition reality.
