Normita Lastimosa is a sixty seven (67) year old single mother of one son. She had worked for Department of National Housing as a lawyer before starting Globalcrafts International Corporation. Globalcrafts International Corporation manufactures handicrafts use for home decorations. The Handicrafts are made of walis tingting (coconut leaf ribs), buri (kind of palm), abaca (Manila hemp) which are all abundant in the Philippines.
Known as Norma to her friends, She was influenced to start the business sixteen (16) years ago. While she was in the United States of America (USA), she came up with an idea that handimade products are sought-after in the states and seeing potential in exporting in handicrafts. With contacts and connections in the state, after returning from the states, she had quitted her job, started the business and had her first export into the United States (US.)
Currently her son works for her as the one in-charge with costing. Currently she employs five (5) men and (5) five women complete with full benefits of Social Security (SSS) and Medicare (PhilHealth.) and around five to ten (5 - 10) piece workers for certain projects in production.For sixteen (16) years, she had been employing undergraduates and senior citizens. All her productions are exported into the United States (US.) She plans to expand the business outside United States (US.)
Our partner NPFC is helping Globalcrafts International Corporation in acquiring additional raw materials to boost the production and support incoming orders by granting a P500,000 Purchase Order loan payable in 3 months.
