Note: Has acquired a total of six (6) loans including this.
This loan is the fourth story of Raquel Sagala to LAH.
“Mark and Raquel’s Yema” was founded in 1999 by spouses Raquel and Mauro or ‘Mark’ from the province of Bulacan. Raquel’s specialty is Yema which is defined as a type of custard candy made from egg yolks and condensed milk manually molded until the shape becomes pyramid-like wrapped in a cut cellophane. Raquel started by peddling yema to neighbors then to sari-sari store owners and later on becomes a regular distributor to customers from public markets, resorts, and has reached 200 stalls in Bulacan, Caloocan City, and Valenzuela City.
‘Mark and Raquel’s Yema’ recently expanded by adding a general merchandise store selling clothes, accessories, gift items, school supplies, and their specialty yema thru the help of NPFC. Also, she was able to hire two additional workers that makes the present a total of 10. Workers are receiving daily whole day meal and their families as well aside from piece rate based salary and Philhealth benefit.
LendAHand and local partner NPFC, will help Raquel Sagala acquire a working capital loan to boost production and meet orders of customers. She will also need to purchase other ingredients like langka, ube, and cashew nuts as an additional flavor of yema to make it extra special
