      The project

Marilyn and Richmonde Marketing has been in operation since January of 1993. The 20 years old business started out as a small cottage industry and now operates at full capacity and offers 11 types of whitening soap for Filipinos who dream to have whiter and fairer skin.

The business is owned and operated by a 55 year old mother of 4, Ms. Marilyn Fallaria. Marilyn graduated with a degree in business administration and initially worked for a cotton mill factory. Her passion for business paved the way for her development of her own whitening soap formula which is unique for containing the Papaya fruit extract which helps in whitening the skin.

Being in the industry of soap making for 20 years earned her a lot of contacts and dealers. He soap is now marketed not only in her local community in Antipolo City but also in some parts of Northern and Southern Luzon as well as in the Visayas region. She even has a client who re-labels her soap and exports it abroad.

She is now being assisted by her son who acts as the operations manager of the company and her husband helps out in logistics. Her business currently employs 15 persons, 7 of which are female, all living in the local community. Among the 15 workers, 5 are given free board and lodging while everyone receives free daily meals. The company also supports 4 educational scholars, all of whom are children of her workers.

Marilyn dreams of providing more jobs for her community and she plans to achieve this by growing her business and expanding in areas that she hasn’t explored.

NPFC granted her a P400,000 working capital loan which is payable in 18 months. She will be using the amount to buy raw materials in bulk and to augment the on-going construction of her new soap factory situated in Angono, Rizal.
