      The project

      Carolina Almaden was an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Japan when she took over the management of the Santos Taho from her father twelve (12) years ago since her father could no longer manage the business. Santos Taho manufactures popular Filipino cuisines such as Taho (soya bean curd), Puto (steamed rice cake) and Kutsinta ((boiled rice with lye and brown sugar} The business that she now manages was the means her father in supporting his family and sending her and her siblings to finish school.

      She now employs three (3) regular workers and which are all staying in her house with free meals and she also supplies 35-40 vendors peddling around areas of Marikina, Pasig, Quezon City and Montalban. Her business generates jobs for families belonging to marginal Sector of society where most did not finish study.

      Carol regularly extends help for the flood evacuees by sending excess manufactured goods in evacuation centers around Marikina.

      Lendahand’s partner NPFC is helping Santos Taho in acquiring additional raw materials to boost the production and support incoming orders by granting a P150,000 working capital loan payable in 18 months.
