The project
Myrna Bancale had worked in a family business of shell craft business as marketing manager. After getting married, Myrna and her husband started establishing Lapu-Lapu & Magellan Shell Art in 2002. Lapu-Lapu & Magellan Shell Art mainly focused on manufacturing of decorative shell crafts made from a collection of finest various sea shell components that is in demand for households, offices, hotels, and resorts. The products are being exported to Germany, Italy, Spain, USA and Japan.
For 12 years, Myrna had employed housewives and out of school youths in manufacturing shell handicrafts. Currently, the business employs twenty four (24) fulltime craftsmen consisting of nineteen (19) males and five (5) females.
When on a need for higher production, she hires additional craftsmen on a piece-wise rate. And when there is a chance to celebrate, Myrna treats her staff on an outing or even a victory party for the projects well done.
Lendahand partner's NPFC is helping Maribelle in acquiring additional raw materials to boost the production and support incoming orders
