Summary

Rosemarie Lorenzo is a forty three (43) year old mother of a child, owns Sylor Scrap Trading which recycles box cartons and supplies the cartons to clients who want cheaper packaging's. In July 2004, a friend of hers advised to set-up a business in carton recycling. Her first client was a supplier of soy sauce and ordered the recycled cartons from her on a COD basis. Rose got the cartons from supermarkets and hired one (1) skilled worker to do the recycling based on the clients' needs on the carton sizes.

Currently, Sylor Scrap Trading is employing thirty five (35) workers, nine (9) of which are females. The workforce are from elementary to high school graduates and earning legal wages and compensations. Rose also gives out company outings and seven (7) families on free board and lodgings. Her sister-in-law is in-charge with the production.

On September 2009, Tropical storm Ondoy (Typhoon Ketsana) had washed out two hundred thousand pesos (Php 200,000) worth of carton but had recovered from the loss. Rose had donated some substantial amount to buy an ambulance for her barangay.

Rose is planning to purchase the lot that she is renting right now.

Lend a Hand partner's NPFC is helping Sylor Scrap Trading in acquiring additional capital to boost the production and support for the incoming orders.
