The project

Lilibeth Javilinar is a fifty one (41) tear old registered nurse, a mother of twins and married to a seaman. She worked at Dr. Jose Rizal Hospital as nurse for one (1) year then at World Vision as operation head for seven (7) years. While Beth was in the United States (US), she had attended eco-friendly livelihood seminars on recycling and making handicraft products from old newspaper, and magazines. Beth came up with an idea that hand-made products were well sought-after in the States and seeing the potentials in exporting in handicrafts from the Philippines. With contacts and connections in the States and Canada, she started the handicraft business registered as JB Papercrafts in 2009 on a capital of Php 100,000 from savings, JB Papercrafts is named after the couple's first letters of their nicknames. JB Papercrafts employs three (3) males and two (2) females. Beth currently supporting indigent individuals and families in Cagayan and Isabela by training them and buying the products they produce. There are around ninety (90) females made up of farmers, out of school youth, and housewives that are supported by sub-contracts to produce the handicrafts. She is also helping prisoners by conducting trainings on how to make good products from recycle materials. The handicrafts are being exported to the United States of America (USA) and Canada and locally distributed to SM Kultura (Philippines largest Filipino lifestyle retail chain) Stores. With five (5) years in the handicraft business, she is now an accredited TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) trainor. Beth wants to expand the exports particularly to Europe and Australia Lend a Hand partner's NPFC is helping JB Papercrafts in acquiring additional working capital to boost the production and support for the incoming orders.
