Summary
Anna Jean Crisanto is a Doctor of Medicine and mother of 3. Angie, as her friends call her, worked for Cebu Doctors Hospital for 10 months as a resident doctor. During this time she also took care of her children. This proved to be too much, as the job was highly demanding and she was not able to optimally care for her family. Because she was not willing to give up being a doctor or spend less time with her family, she came to a solution. In 1996 she resigned from the hospital and started her own clinic called the Mary Queen of Hearts Medical Clinic.
The clinic currently employs 10 professionals, most of them are certified medical staff and some administrative staff. Besides offering medical care for people in the region that can afford it, she also offers medical advice for reduced fees to those who cannot afford regular clinics. This way Angie hopes to contribute to the local communitys welfare.
Together with local partner NPFC, Lendahand supports the Mary Queen of Hearts Medical Clinic by providing a loan that enables Angie to acquire new medical equipment to support the clinics services. The loan will be repaid in 6 months.
