The project

Seedworks Philippines, Inc. is an agricultural company involved in research, breeding, development, distribution, and marketing of hybrid seeds of rice, vegetables, and corn. The company works with farmers at the grassroots level to promote new technology and provide technical assistance to Filipino farmers, through their well-trained field technicians to conduct seminars and other strategies in livelihood for the farmers in different areas in the Philippines. It generates employment in the farming communities by helping farmers have additional income for their families.

The company currently has 22 regular office employees who receive all mandatory benefits. It will also support 60 farmers by providing them with free training in developing better harvest products and free meals. Most of the farmers come from poor uneducated families so a scholarship program is also offered to the children of the farmers if they would like to pursue schooling.

Seedworks Philippines, Inc. has been transacting with the Filipino government to provide better support for the agricultural sector all over the Philippines. It needs a working capital loan to purchase and deliver raw materials such as seeds to supplement the needs of the Department of Agriculture in Butuan, Agusan del Sur. The loan will be provided by NPFC and LendAHand.
