Mechel Cruz of Bulacan grew up in a family with a fish dealer business. Since then, she decided to leave school and manage its operations in 2004. They named it Medina and Mechel Fish Vendor, which is a combination of Mechel and her mothers name. She and her family supplies and retail their fish products around Bulacan province where they reside. Employing around twenty male and two female workers, she provides them with free meal, board and lodging and medicine in case of emergencies. Wage being given to workers depend on the assigned task and is given on a daily and weekly basis. Her parents being christians built their own church, where they prepare relief goods for those who were affected by typhoon.
