      Summary

In June 2007, Renante and Nora Paras started their junkshop business in Apalit Pampanga. They named it after the combined initials of their names, RNE Junkshop. Renante was an overhead crane operator before for twelve years, but decided to start the junkshop as he was influenced by his siblings. Recycling of plastics and metals are their concept, for over eight years he is able to employ one regular male worker, and a subcon of five out of school youths in addition of the workload. All his workers receive a fix rate salary given on a weekly basis, with free meal and accomodation. Aside from their workers in the shop, they also have ten merchants provided with sidecar and capital with free snack. Together with Lendahand’s partner NPFC is helping Renante Paras in acquiring additional working capital for purchasing of additional sidecars and soon to have a new business like canteen and mini grocery in Calumpit Bulacan.
