Kwale Coconut Processors Limited (Kwale Coconuts) is a certified Fair Trade Organic producer and exporter of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). Kwale Coconut's VCO is the key ingredient for premium beauty care products sold in the US and around the world. As the leading producer and supplier of Fair Trade Organic VCO in the region, Kwale Coconuts is dedicated to delivering high quality by maintaining and strengthening their most important suppliers: smallholder coconut farmers. With more than 1,500 local farmers and 60 employees, Kwale Coconuts implements long-term impactful community development including training in organic best practices, support for creating micro-enterprises, and paying a fair price to farmers that is almost twice as much as the market price.

Through its farmer outreach programme, Kwale Coconuts now contracts 1,900 farmers. With this loan, Kwale Coconuts can increase their community of farmer suplliers to 2,500 individual smallholder farmers growing organic coconut in the coast region of Kenya.
