Bailyk 15
Due to drought, Aida and Saiitpek watched their grassland disappear and had to sell part of their livestock. With a loan from Bailyk Finance, they were able to restore their small farm. Your investment gives rural farmers the tools to adapt to a changing climate, with financing and hands-on support from Bailyk.

The project
Farmers in Kyrgyzstan face the effects of climate change every day. Drought means less grass, less feed, and ultimately fewer animals. For Aida and her husband Saiitpek, who keep a few cows and sheep next to their home, that leads to immediate stress. Without enough hay, feed becomes too expensive. And without feed, there are no animals.
When they had to reduce their herd, they lost a vital source of income. But with a loan from Bailyk Finance, they got the chance to start again. They invested in restoring their pasture so the grass could grow back, and bought two cows and a ram. Now that there’s enough to feed the animals, they can make a living from their small farm again.
Bailyk Finance supports thousands of rural farmers with affordable loans. In addition to access to capital, the organization offers training in agriculture, financial management, and climate-smart practices. This way, farmers get the tools they need not just to get by, but to build a more resilient future.
