      The project

      With this loan EFC will be able to finance the following entrepreneurs:

      Isaac Baligye

      The entrepreneur operates three shops in Kikuubo, Kafumbe Mukasa and Natete where he trades in produce. He has Ugx 210million in stock and turns over Ugx 2.3 billion per year in this business. He employs 11 people. Isaac desires to improve his efficiency in deliveries and manage better the transport costs by acquiring his own delivery van. He has requested EFC to facilitate Ugx 86 million towards this need.

      Hillary Innocent Kiyaga

      Hillary operates two (2) garments shops, one in the city center on Charm towers and the other in Kitebi. He has stocks worth Ugx 78 million and turns over Ugx 517 million per annum. He also employs 4 people. Hillary has made a request of Ugx 40 million to EFC to meet his working capital needs arising out of demand for increased product lines among the children’s’ garments.  

      Beatrice Mawano & Deogratious Mawano

      Dr Mawano is one of the longest serving dentists in Kampala and has been around for close to 30 years. He runs a dental clinic in the city center called Mawano Dental Clinic. He employs over 15 people and turns over Ugx 2.1 billion per annum. He has approached EFC to finance Ugx 66 million for acquisition of a crowning machine.

      Khasifa Nakanjako

      Khasifa runs a garments shop in the city center (African village) well known for the traditional bitengi fashion wear. The entrepreneur has operated the shop for the last 9 years and employs 6 people. She turns over Ugx 485million. She also owns rental properties which earn her Ugx 75m per annum. Khasifa as requested for Ugx 75million from EFC to acquire 2 modern sewing machines.

      Leonard Nyungankire

      Leonard runs 3 wholesale shops all trading in fast moving consumer goods mainly house hold items. The business has been operational for the last 21 years. Leonard employs 11 people who support in business oversight. The business turns over Ugx 2.6 billion per annum. Leonard needs Ugx 86 million to clear his containers.

      Solantis Solar Limited

      The lead entrepreneur Lukas has been operating solar business for the last 9 years here in Uganda. This comes as a solution to eliminate costs of dry cell batteries, candles, kerosene lamps or mobile phones for light. The business has 8 distributor outlets across the country and employs 16 permanent staff and over 20 contract employees. The business turns over Ugx 1.46 billion per annum and has approached EFC for a loan of Ugx 85.6 million for working capital requirements.
