The project
SECOND LOAN
Nilas Junkshop started its operation eight years ago, but was officially registered under Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in November 2012. It is managed by Nila and Rogelio Constante from Dasmariñas, Cavite. Junkshop was introduced and first managed by a family friend, but due to the inconsistency of handling the business, Nila decided to take over.
Nila employs 12 out of school youth workers that receives decent daily wages and three-meals a day. Some of her workers that goes to field are given with small capital and sidecar for scrap collection and pay them for additional collected scrap. Collected bottles are categorized as good condition and clean, which she uses for her other business (cooking oil supply) that was recently opened and some are supplied to companies that needs recycable bottles. Same as to boxes or cartons which she supply to Furry Company in GMA Cavite.
Lendahand and local partner NPFC will help Nila acquire working capital to purchase more bottles and boxes to meet the demands of her clients.
