The project
SECOND LOAN
Cocoline Cocoshells and Cocopulp Dealer started in 2009 and now on its seventh year of operation. It is located in Malabon City, Metro Manila, owned and managed by Mr. Jerome Careso. The business is engaged in coco shells processing, used as alternative combustion materials and coco pulp that manually segregates from the coco shells and the same is processed into palm oil and feedmeal and supplied to respective buyers.
An average of 80 tons per month of coco waste is saved and recycled.
Jerome has been a partner of NPFC for two years now and has acquired seven loans including this loan. With the able assitance from NPFC, he was able to acquire additional trucks for better service to three more clients.
A total of 25 laborers are presently employed, compared from six individuals when he was just beginning. Most of them are out of school youths provided with whole day meal and lodging aside from salary. 11 Among 25 artisans are part time and wage is based on piece rate.
The purpose of his loan is to purchase stocks of cocoshells for processing and delivery to clients. To be repaid in 12 months time.
