The project

Anthony Henry Gaw is a naturalist residing in San Pablo City Laguna. He graduated in biology from the Ateneo de Manila University. Being a true plant lover and nature enthusiast, he experimented throughout his life planting a variety of plants since he was little. After graduation, he started his own business called Something From Nature Farms in 2009. His company started as a specialist in designing vertical gardens, where a wall is decorated with flowers and plants. Anthony uses his own mix of fertilizer consisting of coconut fibers as a key ingredient. This material is very useful for growing sensitive crops and plants. He noticed there was a demand for this type of fertilizer and therefore decided to sell it as a side product.

The company exists for 5 years now and employs 15 workers throughout the year. Except in peak season, when demand is at its high, he hires 5 more temporary workers. All receive decent weekly salary and are offered 3 complementary meals a day. Anthony also hires senior citizens that are still capable of light physical labor to show his community commitment.

Together with local partner NPFC, will Lendahand provide a loan to Anthony in helping him to cope with the increasing demand and to hire the additional workers during the coming peak season. The loan will be repaid in 6 months.
