The project
In 2010, Ten Senses Africa (TSA) started to buy macadamia nuts from farmers and sell roasted, packed nuts with a small warehouse based in Nairobi, Kenya for export to a customer in Europe. As the CEO, Frank brought his passion for educating nut farmers to achieve phenomenal growth. TSA trains farmers on tree management and production through a tree nursery while planting at least 1 million trees of macadamias in Western Kenya and 1 million trees of cashews in Mombasa. With the steadfast dedication to farmers, TSA has grown from 40 staff to 900 staff including casuals (vast majority as women), one product (macadamia nut) to three, and an average annual turnover of $100,000 to $2.9M in 2016.
