Summary
Grephas Juma is a man in desperate need to change from fossil energy source to clean energy. Residing in Nambale Western Kenya, he spends USD3 to make a trip just to access Kerosine that costs USD0.7 per litre in the market-centre that is nearest to his home.
He has two children and all of them are in 8th grade primary school now getting ready for end of year exams. The current lighting option is very expensive. Besides that his children have been complaining of eye problem because of the soot produced by the kerosene lantern.
Grephas has another problem...his wife uses a lantern while milking his cows early in the morning and late in the evening meaning the milk quality is affected due to the kerosene smell. The milk is a precious source of income.
The solar home system once installed will literally change his family life to... comfortable studies for the children, better health and securing the livelihood from the milk which the wife will be able to guarantee quality milk to her customers whom she delivers in the nearest shopping centre.
Thank you for supporting her and the others in this her group.

Impact
BnF focuses on sustainable energy projects in rural Kenya, offering households a 12-month payment plan to purchase a solar home system. The system enables clients to generate sufficient energy to power many basic necessities such as lights, radios, televisions, and other essential appliances. Solar home systems reduce reliance on polluting and health-threatening fuels such as kerosene, firewood, and coal for families' lighting and cooking needs.
Electricity opens new economic opportunities for families, enabling household incomes to grow progressively. It provides access to information and entertainment, allowing the children to spend time studying in the evenings and empowering women to engage more in household and local-level decision-making. It stands to reason that entire rural communities' livelihoods benefit from access to clean energy as their productivity, efficiency, and health prospers.
