The project

Lucy Njeri Kuria, a Kenyan entrepreneur, is the co-owner and director of Saipei Foods, a growing exporting company focused on feeding the world with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Incorporated in June 2013, Saipei Foods Ltd is a Kenyan company dealing in processing, packing and exporting of fruits and vegetables with a specialty in the Hass and Fuerte varieties of avocado. The company also ships mangoes and fresh vegetables during the avocado off-season.

Their major markets are in Europe- France, Netherlands, Belgium, Middle East, Asia and recently got a big client in Spain. The company owns an avocado processing line on which they also process avocados for other exporters at a fee. Saipei Foods engages young, small holder farmers in rural areas, whom they train and support to grow and supply them.

The company also works with a limited number of aggregators in compacting their comprehensive supplier base that ensures consistent supply of quality produce when needed. Saipei encourages good agricultural practices and adheres to all industry standards requirements
