      The project

Rajasthan faces extreme temperatures which makes agriculture, one of the difficult processes. Here, most of the crop production is only from paddy and in comparison, and the income from agriculture is low in comparison with other occupations. But there are many families who continue the agriculture business for commercial and self-produce purposes. Women engage in animal rearing, masala-making, dairy businesses etc in their local area.

The average monthly income of such families is less than $60. The women in Rajasthan want to take the responsibility of earning for their household to support their children, secure their livelihood and future. Hence, Apani has been helping out such women borrowers and their families in Rajasthan by providing them with loans. Through this project, these rural communities of Rajasthan will benefit socioeconomically and they will invest in better seeds, fertilizers, water improvements etc.
