The project
Namirembe Offsprings Limited was incorporated in May 2012. It is owned by Erina Nansubuga and Edgar Ndawula who have a wealth of experience in the grain trade. The Company activities cut across the maize, sorghum, soybeans and beans value chains. They procure the grain directly from farmers and bulk it before selling to both domestic and regional markets. The company works with approximately 1,200 farmers and over 50 village agents who they provide seeds and training to in order to secure their supply of the grain. The company has experienced gradual growth over the years with annual turnover of USD 519,000 in 2018 (an 48% increase from the 2017).
Other than having to wait for the payment from their clients as is the case with all grain dealers, Namirembe will be able to pay the farmers on time using the loan thus securing a continuous supply of grain from the contented Farmers. In addition, the farmers can also meet their basic needs through the prompt payments received.
