SECOND LOAN

In 1992, Elena Daño of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu established “Elda Shells Trading”, with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). It is a business engaged in shellcraft manufacturing which started its operation using her personal savings and family members as worker. She began as a sub-contractor for the shellcraft items of different Cebu Exporters. One later year, Elena has been able to serve the local markets of Manila, Davao, and the island of Boracay in Aklan. Her continuous breakthrough has tapped even the international market, like in Poland, Australia, Hongkong, and Ireland. 

The continuous growth of the business allowed Elena to hire eight workers, given with a reasonable salary. In terms of hiring, she prioritizes to hire housewives who would like to earn money for their family. She also open jobs for out-of-school youth and families nearby the manufacturing area for the additional income. Her first loan to NPFC was used to boost the shellcrafts production and the export. With this loan, she will be needing additional working capital to be used for the construction of the production area to further develop it for the workers’ convenience. 

Lendahand and local partner NPFC, will be providing this loan to Elena.
