Résumé
George Oduori Ochieng lives in lolgorian a place with limited grid connection. Before we met him he was using kerosene as a source of lighting, according to him, the light was affecting his children eyes and that was evident in morning hours where they would rub eyes due to itching effect. He narrates how he would spend 50 Kenya shillings on kerosene had a great demand in the homestead. Fulfilling the lighting needs for the wife in the kitchen, the children for reading and the husband who would occasionally want to read his newspaper was challenging.
For a system with 5 lights, and a 16 Inch digital TV George says the pressure for giving out cash for kerosene is long gone. He can now charge his phone and enjoys watching news at home unlike there before when he would go to the nearest shopping center just to watch news and come home late.
For him and fellow 26-villagers, the loan will allow them pay affordable amount per month meaning longer hours of studying for the children which is the desire of parents from this village in Trans-mara.

Impact
BnF focuses on sustainable energy projects in rural Kenya, offering households a 12-month payment plan to purchase a solar home system. The system enables clients to generate sufficient energy to power many basic necessities such as lights, radios, televisions, and other essential appliances. Solar home systems reduce reliance on polluting and health-threatening fuels such as kerosene, firewood, and coal for families' lighting and cooking needs.
Electricity opens new economic opportunities for families, enabling household incomes to grow progressively. It provides access to information and entertainment, allowing the children to spend time studying in the evenings and empowering women to engage more in household and local-level decision-making. It stands to reason that entire rural communities' livelihoods benefit from access to clean energy as their productivity, efficiency, and health prospers.
