Sabomana is a talented family man who runs a barbershop that is the favourite of hundreds in the camp. Due to poor grid connectivity, power surges and black outs have affected his seemingly booming business. On a good day, he shaves about 15 people and hires 3 casuals to assist and makes USD 19 in net income.

Solar Home Lighting systems is the new talk in the densely populated settlement. Sabomana has built enough savings to acquire Msolar55+ for lighting in his business and house (both are joined). The package goes for USD 862 and comprises 4 bright bulbs, 9AH batteries, 55 watts panel, 24” TV, a torch and radio.

Armed with the TV and undisturbed flow of lighting, he is optimistic to attract more clients. He shall create employment for 3 more casuals during peak seasons. His next investment is to acquire solar powered barber kits and open branches in neighbouring zones.
