SECOND LOAN

“Gerweiss Motors, Corporation” is a corporation based in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. A family owned business, established in 2011 and managed by Sean Gerard, Owner and Manager. The business name came from the combination of the spouses’ name. It is engaged in customizing, manufacturing, designing, and selling of electric vehicle / tricycle or also called as ‘e-trikes’. E-trike is a battery operated car that are maintained and monitored by Gerweiss Motors, Corporation and its sister company Gerweiss Station – where batteries are charged. Batteries are not sold, instead, operators leases it for a daily fee. It aims to lessen the noise and air pollution in protecting the environment. At the same time, to increase the driver-operators income by creating new design to attract tourists and with bigger capacity to carry more passengers. 

From its first loan, Gerweiss Motors, Corporation was able to hire three additional workers that makes the present in to eight regular employees including 24 part-time. Most part-time workers are school drop-outs which Gerweiss prioritizes to hire, and educate with financial literacy and introduce savings to both drivers and operators. Also, they were able to manufacture a total of 18 units distributed to new e-trike operators. 

Their loan proceed will be used to purchase e-trike materials and machine part to further build 20 new electric-tricycles and payment of workers’ wages. Loan will be provided by NPFC and LendAHand. Payable in 6 months.
