El proyecto
Mendbayar is a handicraftsman and creates traditional snuffboxes (for tabacco) out of natural stones for the past 4 years in Erdenet city. Mongolia still has a very active snuff-taking tradition and it constitutes the gesture of welcoming a guest.
He has a workshop in his backyard and orders natural stones from Ulaanbataar. The stones come from all over the country and the variety is therefore quite impressive.
With a loan, Mendbayar will be able to renew his equipment, buy a new grinding machine to produce more types of snuffboxes, and repair his car in order to deliver the products to his clients. Lendahand will provide a loan together with local partner VFM that has to be repaid in 24 months.
