Lydia Paderanga is a fifty one (51) year old mother of seven (7) children who lost her husband when she was twenty seven (27) years old. She had a hard time searching for the daily needs of her family and how she will be able to sustain it, and that was the reason why she worked hard. Lydia became a copra buyer (a dried meat, or kernel, of the coconut used to extract coconut oil), engaged in a buy-and-sell business, dishwasher and etc. When she earned enough money they left their province and took chances in Manila. She started a business with minimal capital and little by little she earned from it and that took her chances to start entering another market. Lydia had three (3) daughters that’s why she came up with Tres Maria’s as her business name. On the first couple of years of her venture, Lydia was into hardware business and then shifted into furniture where she saw a great potential of success. Through her hard work, she was able to send all her children in college and her two children on his second husband are now in their high school. Her kids are helping the business in some ways but Lydia is very hands on in running the business. Tres Maria’s Hardware had two (2) branches, one is in Novaliches and the other one is in Valenzuela. In Novaliches, there are twenty five (25) employees, while Valenzuela had twenty one (21) employees with fair compensation and benefits. Lend a Hand partner’s NPFC is helping Lydia Paderanga acquire additional capital to boost the production and support for the incoming orders.
