Loidamae Villaflores is a thirty five (35) year old mechanical engineering undergraduate and a mother of two (2) worked at PSI Tech as process engineer for ten (10) years. Mae, as she is called resigned her work due to the frequent illness of her son. Needing to have an income and being at the side of her son, Mae started a garment making business as a cottage industry seven (7) years ago. She had thought of the garment business since Taytay where she grew up and raised is known for the garment industry. With the help of her mother-in-law, she set up the shop and began making shirts. In 2010, she made the business into a full blown enterprise and registered the business as Jun and Mae Shirt Enterprises which the name was derived from the couple names. Her husband, who was a former OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) is in-charge with operations and the designer for the shirts. While Mae is in-charge with the finances. The products are being delivered to malls around Baclaran and supplies products to different kiosks in Greenhills. The difficulties the business encounters are when there are no textile to work with and the collection from the products. The business, currently employs eight (8) males for the prints and eight (8) females as seamstresses. All sixteen (16) employees benefits with just and legal compensations. The seamstresses are housewives while the males are from the southern province of Bacolod and housed for free near the factory.
