The passion in cooking and baking drives Maria Olivia Orencia to continue her family’s secret recipe in making local delicacies like Uraro, Broas, Banana Cake, and many more ... Olivia’s most famous product is Uraro which describes as mildly sweet, shaped into flowers and wrapped in thin paper called ‘papel de hapon’(Japanese paper). She is still using the old method by using ‘pugon’ (fireplace) in baking that makes her product stay fresh and taste good. Olivia resides in Liliw which is often visited because of the shoe products, being unique among other natives in the municipality she sells Uraro and other products in the small pasalubong center. She also deliver goodies within her neighborhood and provinces to promote Filipino delicacies to local and international tourists.

She is being assisted by her youngest daughter and husband together with their six helper in baking, selling, labeling, and packaging. Helpers are provided with meal and allowance aside from take home pay.

“Orencia – Monfero Uraro & Food Products” was founded in 1974 by Olivia and family from Liliw, Laguna.

Loan proceeds will be used to purchase ingredients to make more Uraro to serve all customers and pasalubong centers. She will be assisted both by LendAHand and local partner NPFC.
