Mubende Agro supply and processor Limited was founded by Jean De Dieu Twahirwa and Venantie Nyirambabajende and incorporated as a Limited Company in July 2014. The core business of the Company is procuring grain directly from the farmers thus offering ready market to the farmers and directly impacting their lives. The grain is dried, cleaned, graded and bulked for supplies to UN agencies and other agro processors in the country and the Great lakes region especially South Sudan, Kenya and Rwanda. The grain includes beans, maize, sorghum, Soya beans and cassava. They employ 5 permanent staff but offer jobs to over 40 people on casual basis during other processing of the grain, that is, drying, cleaning loading and offloading.

The company has rapidly grown over the past five years and was able to turn over EUR 4 million in 2018. Mubende are a member of the grain umbrella body -The Uganda Grain Council.

Most grain dealers such as Mubende usually collect produce from farmers, process then sell to their agro-processors or even export to regional buyers who only make payment days after delivery. The delayed payments impact farmers negatively since many of them rely on proceeds from sales of the grain in order to meet their basic needs. With this financing Mubende, will be able to pay the farmers on time thus securing a continuous supply of grain from the contented farmers. In addition, the farmers can also meet their basic needs through the prompt payments received.
