Luz Stella is the proud owner of bakery ‘Panificadora Real’.  She has been working as a baker in various bakeries for as long as she can remember. That’s how Luz learned the art of baking bread and cupcakes. Since six years she is the owner of her own bakery in Paseo Real, a neighbourhood of the  city of Soacha in the province of Cundinamarca. Luz and her husband have three children. One of the children (the eldest daughter) is going to university and works in the bakery as well.  With her bakery, Luz is generating three fixed jobs. She is eager to employ more people from the local environment.

In the bakery several products are being baked such as bread, cakes and biscuits. Next to the bakery, Luz has a small café where people can enjoy the freshly produced delicacies. Luz’ husband is the baker. He is also enrolled in the national education improvement program (SEPA). Via this program, he receives training to become a specialist in his field of business. Luz’ eldest daughter is responsible for the financial administration of the bakery.

With the loan, they would like to professionalize the café. They would like to create a more appealing café, where more people are able to enjoy the delicacies and would like to take their time to relax. With the loan the are also creating 2 extra jobs.

Lendahand and its local partner in Colombia, VSC are granting this loan to Luz so she can make her dreams become reality. The loan is payable in 24 months.
