El proyecto

Carolayn is the owner of ‘Creaciones EMY’.  Her company consists of 2 clothes shops which are both situated in different parts of Colombia’s capital Bogotá.  Next to her 2 stores, Carolayn also runs her business from 2 markets. On Wednesdays, she has a market stand in ‘bodega el progreso’. On Sundays, she sells clothes on the famous market of ‘barrio 20 de julio’. 

Carolayn has been working in clothes shops since she was 15. From a young age she learned how to run a business; she started as sales person in a small clothes shop. She really learned on the job, and 9 years ago decided to open up her own store.  Since then, Carolayn has been able to open more stores. She also sells clothes to other, smaller retailers in Bogotá. Carolayn started her business by selling women’s clothes, but now she has added children’s clothes to her collection. Carolayn says selling women’s clothes is one thing she is very good at; she says she understands very well what her customers are looking for.  Next to her, 3 people are working in the clothes shops. 

With the loan, Carolayn would like to open up a 3rd store in a different part of Bogotá. She will hire 2 people to run this new store. Her dream is to buy the locations that she is renting at the moment. That way she can renovate and decorate them to give the stores a unique identity.

Lendahand and its local partner grant this loan to Carolayn payable in 24 months, to help her making her ambitions reality.
