After having worked for 40 years for different companies, Carlos thought the time was right to start his own company.  This was the start of Discorga, founded in 2007! Discorga is member of a cooperative called COOPSANP, a collaboration between different companies that produce panela. Panela is a famous local delicacy made from sugarcane. The cooperative is a collaboration between small family owned companies that grow, produce and sell panela and derivatives.  One of the most important goals of the cooperative is to represent the interest of the local smallholder sugarcane farmers. The panela products are high quality products and made without adding any artificial additives and preservatives. 

Discorga sells the products to supermarkets and hypermarkets in Bogotá. Carlos is employing 5 fixed employees and 2 temporary employees. 

Carlos wants to use the loan to be able to handle extra purchase orders ánd to create extra stock to be able to satisfy customers with last-minute orders. With the loan he will create 2 extra jobs.

Together with the local partner in Colombia (VSC) Lendahand is granting this loan to Carlos, payable in 24 months, to help him make his ambitions become reality.
