Meet Awuor Purity. As a mother of eight children her hands are full. With competing priorities it means use of less efficient lighting source is her only choice since she can’t put together capital for a solar system. Years of using Koroboi [a paraffin lantern] has resulted to health issues with most of her children. The light from the lantern is not enough for the children to do their evening school work a situation that is likely to show up during exams and probably lock them out of good education opportunities.

The Siaya county and specifically Umala village where Purity lives is made up of community members with similar lighting challenges. The solar home system she acquires will completely change the health and education future of her family.
