As a Lendahand investor, you know better than anyone: small loans make a big difference. But what happens to the balance in your Lendahand account after you pass away?

Three of our colleagues also asked themselves this question. The answer led to the establishment of Foundation Stichting Equal Opportunities 4 All - an independent Dutch foundation that ensures your money continues to be used for impactful projects in the Global South, even after you're gone.

Why a Separate Foundation?

Your Lendahand wallet stands separately from the assets of Hands-On B.V, trading under the name 'Lendahand', and does not fall into Lendahand's estate. Your money is therefore safe, even if Lendahand as a company were to cease existing.

However, your balance is still registered under your name. This means that upon death, it normally becomes part of your inheritance and is distributed among your heirs. If that's not your wish because you want your balance to continue contributing to impactful investments after you're gone, there is now a simple solution: Stichting Equal Opportunities 4 All.

Stichting Equal Opportunities 4 All enables you to donate your wealth, either during your lifetime or upon death, so that it is continuously and uninterruptedly deployed for the impact goals pursued by Lendahand.

The foundation uses received donations to make new investments via the Lendahand platform: in social enterprises and projects in the Global South.

Advantages of the Foundation

Legally independent: Does not fall into Hands-On B.V.'s estate in case of bankruptcy or termination.
100% impact: All loans in which the foundation invests contribute to SDG 10 (reducing inequality) in low- and middle-income countries.

Option 2: Donate Now (from Lendahand account)

Want to convert your Lendahand wallet balance into a donation to the foundation? We can easily set this up for you.

Send an email to [email protected] indicating whether you want to donate your wallet balance and/or your ongoing investments at Lendahand to the foundation. We will contact our (former) colleagues at Lendahand and arrange it for you!

Including the Foundation in Your Will?

Do you want your impact to continue after your death? Then you can include Stichting Equal Opportunities 4 All in your will. That's easier than it sounds – a notary will help you with the correct wording.

1. Decide what you want to bequeath
This can be a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate, or specifically your Lendahand balance at the moment of death.

2. Visit a notary
A will must be drawn up by a notary. Many offices offer an initial meeting for €0–€75. Find a notary via notaris.nl/notaris-zoeken.

3. Use the example text below

This legacy is intended for the objectives of the foundation, namely reducing opportunity inequality through impact investments in low- and middle-income countries via the Lendahand platform.

Already Have a Will?

You can have this supplemented without drawing up an entirely new will. A notarial addition is generally cheaper. Discuss this with your notary.
