Carabus

funding gap emerging markets

Carabus is a new Dutch entity created to finance invoices from Dutch exporters to emerging markets. These exporters provide products in the sustainable energy sector, like Solar Home Systems from Spark. With financing from Carabus, the solar systems can be paid for and shipped to Nigeria, where Greenage Africa installs them, increasing access to sustainable energy.

Carabus’s financing is backed by Atradius DSB, which offers export insurance on behalf of the Dutch government. This support reduces the risk for exporters and enables faster payments. Carabus raises the necessary funding through investments on Lendahand, leveraging Atradius DSB's guarantees to provide financial security to both investors and exporters. In the future, Carabus aims to expand into other impact sectors, including clean cookstoves and water purification systems.
