Summary

Clarita Calderon is a mother of 4 that worked as a seamstress in Taytay for 8 years. In 1990 Clarita bought a sewing machine to start her own garment business named Clari-Dan Pillows and Curtains from her savings. As the name suggest, the business manufactures curtains and pillows and she has been doing so for twenty-four years now. Clari-Dan Pillows and Curtains distribute its products to stalls around the Divisoria Mall in the Philippine capital of Manila.

Currently Clarita employs thirty-seven workers, all of which are elementary graduates and receive bonuses and incentives. Her husband works as the Operations Manager. She also has 2 stalls near their residence located at Taytay Market in Taytay, Rizal. However, Clarita hopes to expand her business by also delivering to other areas aside from Divisoria Mall and the two stalls near her house.

Together with local partner NPFC is Lendahand supporting Clarita by providing a loan to boost production and to set up additional delivery schemes. The loan will be repaid in 12 months.
