For families in Cambodia, a safe home is not guaranteed. Phin and his family lived for many years in a small, old wooden house in Takeo province. The house offered little space and could not withstand storms. With a loan from First Finance, they were able to build a new, secure home.

The project

Phin lives with his wife Yan and their three children in Takeo province, Cambodia. For more than twenty years, they lived in an old wooden house of just 35 square meters. The house offered little space or privacy and could not withstand heavy storms and rain. Phin and Yan were often worried about their family’s safety.

After speaking with First Finance, Phin realized that his dream of providing a safe home for his family was within reach. First Finance supports Cambodian families who want to build or buy their own home through affordable housing loans. Phin and his wife decided to apply for a loan to turn their dream into reality.

Thanks to the loan, Phin was able to build a strong, safe, and comfortable home for his family. This way, the family significantly improved their living situation and ensured the safety and well-being of their children. Will you help families in Cambodia create a safe home too?

Lives improved

In Cambodia, 75% of people cannot afford to buy a home. Yet owning a house is one of the most important steps toward economic stability for low and middle-income families.

First Finance helps bridge this gap. By offering long-term home improvement loans, they enable underserved families to buy, build, or improve a place they can truly call home. But they do not stop there. First Finance also educates people on how to safely buy and sell property, while protecting them against the risks that often come with homeownership.

Safe and affordable housing is more than just a roof overhead. It improves living standards, strengthens both mental and physical health, supports children’s growth and development, and creates lasting opportunities for families. The positive effects extend further, generating jobs, raising incomes, and contributing to a more sustainable environment.
