The project

Mery lives with her family in Granada, Nicaragua. After losing her job as a housekeeper due to problems with her employer, she turned to MiCrédito, a microfinance institution in Nicaragua that supports female entrepreneurs.

With the microloan, she bought perfumes and beauty products to start her own business. This went well: with a second loan she was soon able to buy a horse. With it, she started a small transport business. She now transports construction materials for various clients, which provides additional income.

The impact of the microloan on the life of Mery and her family has been significant. Her children can now go to school, there is enough food on the table, and she has been able to buy a washing machine. In the future, Mery hopes to buy a piece of land to open a physical shop.

Would you invest in entrepreneurs like Mery? With your investment in MiCrédito, more women entrepreneurs in Nicaragua can get the opportunity to grow their businesses.

MiCrédito is a microfinance institution in Nicaragua with a strong social mission. The organization primarily focuses on female entrepreneurs, small-scale farmers, and self-employed individuals in rural areas.

Access to financing remains very limited in Nicaragua, especially for low-income agricultural workers and small business owners. Only a small portion of the population can borrow from formal financial institutions or has access to a savings account. MiCrédito addresses this gap by specifically targeting the most vulnerable groups in society.

Through its accessible financial services, MiCrédito has created meaningful social impact and helped improve the quality of life for many families in Nicaragua.
