Oxus 10
In Tajikistan, many women literally build their future with their own hands. But without affordable financing, their opportunities remain limited. Oxus helps women like Saidova turn their craftsmanship into a steady income.

The project
The economy in Tajikistan relies heavily on remittances from family members working abroad. Despite the economic growth the country has experienced in recent years, this dependence means that local employment opportunities remain scarce. Families therefore look for ways to build a more stable income they can control themselves, and small businesses play a crucial role in that.
Through microloans and financial training, Oxus enables these families to become entrepreneurs. They receive the resources they need to invest, grow, and better provide for their livelihoods.
Saidova began as a seamstress in her workshop at home, and now specializes in sewing traditional chakan dresses. With the support from Oxus, she purchased a new sewing machine, expanded her production, and taught her daughters how to sew. They both now also started sewing with their own machines. Especially in spring, when demand for chakan dresses peaks, the financing helps Saidova to step up her production and generate more income.
For many women in Tajikistan, access to formal financing is still limited. Oxus reaches these communities with affordable microloans. With your investment, Oxus can support even more women in strengthening their businesses and shaping their economic future.
