The project

Alimo runs a sewing workshop in Uzbekistan together with his wife. What once started as a small family business has grown into a workshop with four permanent employees.

Access to financing played an important role in that growth. For small entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, obtaining a bank loan is often difficult. Banks usually require collateral, a credit history, and proven revenue. As a result, many small entrepreneurs, especially those outside the cities, struggle to qualify for financing.

Delta focuses specifically on this group. The microfinance institution provides loans to small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in both urban and rural areas of Uzbekistan. In doing so, Delta increases access to financing for entrepreneurs who would otherwise have difficulty obtaining a loan.

With a loan from Delta, Alimo invested in his workshop. As a result, his revenue increased and he was able to hire four employees, who are now permanently employed. In this way, a microloan strengthens not only the entrepreneur’s business, but also contributes to employment and local economic growth.

Will you give entrepreneurs like Alimo the opportunity to grow their businesses and create jobs in their communities?
