The project

Niña Stephanie Caballes is a native of Cebu City. She is engaged in their family business of dried fish and pasalubong located in Tabo-an Public Market in the City of Cebu. It was first established by her parents, but she take over the operations in 1995 and changed its name to “Caballes Dried Fish Supply and Pasalubong” on September 2013, under her married family name. Niña and her business is very well-known in the public market, she offers wholesale and retail of dried fish, that she gets from different provinces in the Philippines as well as her pasalubong items. 

Most of her buyers are walk-ins, but she also has six regular clients were she delivers her products on a weekly basis. Her four regular workers are all out-of-school-youth, whom she is providing with food. Stay-in workers are given with free board and lodging at the same time, aside from the monthly salary that they receive. On peak season, where lots of customer visit the shop, she hires two additional worker to attend to buyers’ need. The proceeds of working capital loan will be used to purchase additional stocks. 

Lendahand will provide this loan to Niña together with its local partner NPFC.
