This is the Impact of your Investments in 2025

Written by Lynn Hamerlinck on 2 July 2026

While you kept on investing via Lendahand, something beautiful happened worldwide: it brought more equal opportunities to the lives of thousands of people. Because yes, your money made a real difference in 2025 too.

The year of growth: 75% more invested

The more that is invested, the greater the difference we can make. In 2024, you collectively invested €15.9 million. In 2025, that amount rose to a staggering €27.9 million. That's an increase in volume of no less than 75%!

It's wonderful to see that trust in the entrepreneurs and the platform keeps growing. Every investor consciously chose to look beyond returns and consider the impact their investments enable. Needless to say, we are very grateful for that.

From 'no' to 'yes' for 23,810 entrepreneurs

A small-scale entrepreneur in Nicaragua or Kyrgyzstan who wants to invest in their business and walks into a traditional bank for a loan often hears just one word: No. Why? They have no collateral, no documented credit history, and are labeled as too risky. Taking out a loan isn't exactly straightforward for them. The alternative? Going home empty-handed or turning to loan sharks with even stricter repayment terms.

Luckily, local microfinance institutions are open to support these people offering affordable financing. Thanks to your investments, they were able to turn a 'no' into a 'yes' for a whopping 23,810 entrepreneurs in 2025. With this capital, they invested in their businesses and continue working toward financial stability for their families every day.

More investments, better harvests

At Lendahand, you choose the change you want to invest in based on various impact labels. From financing for female entrepreneurs to a focus on climate.

Some of the microfinance institutions you invest in primarily support farmers in remote areas. Take farmer Nusrat in Tajikistan, for example, who has plenty of land but lacks the resources to increase his harvest or buy, say, a more energy-efficient tractor.

With a so-called green loan through his local microfinance institution, he can now take the necessary steps to get his farm running better thanks to attractive terms.

The result? More climate-resilient farms that are less dependent on unpredictable weather and can achieve a better income for their families.

We love sharing stories like Nusrat's. You'll find all the figures and the stories behind them in the 2025 Impact Report.
