Maria Monet Dayrit is a widow from San Pablo Laguna. She owns the AIM family farm that makes charcoal which is made from coconut shell and carbonized rice hull that makes her product environmental friendly. The business started in 1967 that is now 47 years of operation. She continue learning to manage the business as her spouse died ten years ago, that makes her incharge in over all operation. Coconut shell charcoal and carbonized rice hull is sold in nearby provinces and are exported to Japan, Taiwan and Korea. She employs 30 workers, mostly out of school youth with housewives providing them with free lodging and a competitive salary. Her first loan in NPFC was working capital for generating additional labor. And now having a new loan for purchasing of raw materials and additional labor. Lendahand’s partner NPFC is helping Maria Monet Dayrit in acquiring additional raw materials to boost the production.
