OXUS 7
Nusrat started out as a farmer with a small piece of land and a few chickens. Thanks to the support of Oxus, he gained access to financing to improve his farm. Farmers like Nusrat play an important role in the transition towards more sustainable agriculture in Tajikistan.

The project
Since 2008, Nusrat has been working as a farmer in Tajikistan. He began with a small plot and a few chickens but always dreamed of expanding his business. With a small loan from Oxus, he was able to purchase farming equipment and tools. This allowed him to increase his productivity, acquire more land, and boost his harvests.
Over the years, Nusrat has made great progress. He increased his yields, diversified his crops, and improved his marketing skills. He also built a new home for his family, where his children can grow up in a safe environment. He serves as an inspiration to other farmers and a role model within his community.
Oxus directs all financing from Lendahand toward green loans and loans for female entrepreneurs. Green loans offer lower interest rates for those who invest in sustainability. For example, farmers like Ismatov are working to make agriculture more environmentally friendly by investing in greenhouses, drip irrigation, and new orchards.
